Happy Valentine's Day!

In honor of Valentine's Day, Rosealee and I decided to make a cake. We have this crazy dream of opening our own bakery one day and baking and decorating cakes for a living. We decided if we want that dream to become a reality in the next few years, we should probably start in my kitchen. So here's to our first cake. It's not professional, but it's not bad either.
You can't tell, but we used tape to hold the cap to the tube :)

It didn't work so well:

The iced cake:)

The heart. We made it on wax paper, froze it and then flipped it over onto the cake. It's still on the wax paper in this pic.

We did the same thing with the pink design.

This is what we used to make the imprints on the side of the cake. Crafty huh?

After we added the pink design:

And the heart:

The finished product:

Pretty Princess

For those of you who don't know our dog, Paris, let me fill you in: Basically, she is Paris Hilton as a dog. She's skinny, extremely girly, and thinks she's the most beautiful thing that walked on this planet. She's also extremely spoiled. And she likes wearing tiaras.
While Bradley was gone, Rosealee and I thought Joshua would look cute in the tiara as well, so we let him wear it for a few minutes. And we were right- he did look cute. Of coarse, when he's 16 and dating, we'll be sure to show this off to the girls he brings home :)
You think maybe the Harley Davidson t-shirt makes up for the tiara?

Bradley didn't think the tiara picture was so cute. He felt bad for Joshua being home with us all day, so he took him out for a bike ride. You can't tell, but Joshua really had fun. He was laughing. I think when Bradley pulled on the throttle, it tickled his tummy. It was cute. And doesn't Bradley look just thrilled to stop for a picture?
